Bigger and Better, W.D.’s Reopens

Posted

W.D.’s had been an icon in Mazeppa for over a century. The large three story brick building on the corned had been a hotel, bar and restaurant over it’s many years on Main Street. When it was destroyed by fire in the early spring of 2018, along with the building next to it, there was a void in the city.

The Haugen’s plans to rebuild W.D.’s were delayed by construction setbacks from the covid years and permit approvals from the state.

The new restaurant is now more than double the original size and cost nearly $1 million to complete. The building is a log construction built by an Amish company and the interior finished by local crews.

It is a beautiful facility inside and out and comfortable for large crowds of customers.

The kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 9pm and weekends 8am to 9pm. Every Wednesday there is Bingo at 7pm and a fish fry on Fridays.
