Great Mazeppa Daze! Congratulations and THANK YOU to all the people and organizations that make this celebration happen. And BONUS, City Hall received very few negative reports about behavior or inconvenience. That lets us know that most of the people that came to enjoy the celebration were mindful of respecting property and other celebration participants.
The common theme to the complaints that we did receive was about trash. Trash is also one of the complaints received by City Hall apart from Mazeppa Daze too. During the celebration, some attendees leave bottles, cans, packaging, and almost anything else lay wherever they are sitting. Some had the courtesy to bag it before leaving. There are numerous trash receptacles at the event and some individuals can’t seem make the effort walk their trash to the bin. As for the “other” Mazeppa trash problem, people leave “curb alert” items along the street. If someone isn’t interested after a day or two, get it into the trash. Other ordinance infractions of this type are people burning garbage and unlicensed or non-running vehicles sitting on residential properties. The City needs property owners to make sure their property is not in violation. City Hall sees the effort that is being made on some problem properties. We also thank everyone who we don’t have to remind to keep their space clean.
