I hate to be the one to mention it, but snow removal season is almost here. No one likes to think about removing the remains of a winter weather event, but it makes sense to have a plan for the winter. Sidewalks are to be cleared within 16 hours after a snow event. The property owner has the responsibility of clearing the sidewalk adjacent to their property. If you hire snow removal, have it done by a neighbor, or the tenant if you rent space, be sure that whoever does the removal realizes that the sidewalk in front of your home needs to be cleared also. If the City needs to clear it, there is a charge that will be billed to the homeowner.

Since snow removal is the topic, please remember that there is no street parking from Midnight to 6:00 from November to April to accommodate snow removal operations. Also, give the equipment operators plenty of room, operators may not be able to see you due to conditions or where you are in proximity to the equipment. The City is sharing this information now because our operators, contractors, and staff want you to be safe this winter.
