Thank you to those who slow dripped water during the recent cold snap. It helps to keep your service lines running and helps water mains that may be a bit shallow to keep flowing also. It's a good feeling to see the help residents give to the City to keep things going. The City asks the residents to help keep the City functioning in many ways. With Cleanup Day approaching in a few short months, I will be talking about efforts to keep our City functional and looking good. Every year the City gets complaints about how some properties may be in violation of Nuisance Ordinances around the community and follow up with those owners on how to bring these properties back into compliance. At these visits, we give suggestions on how to bring the property into compliance. If your property looks like an RV sales lot, you are not in compliance. If it looks like you are set up for a year-round antique auction, not in compliance. If you have unlicensed autos in your yard, not in compliance. Spring cleanup is a good way to get rid of many items you have laying around. Automobile salvage yards will come to pick up old vehicles. If you have multiple recreational vehicles and trailers on your property, you should consider finding a rental storage yard to park them. We have been working with several property owners to clean up properties. This process is usually a start and stop process, with progress being made, then sitting idle. We can work to keep Mazeppa beautiful. Planning for Cleanup Day is a good start. Watch for updates on Cleanup Day.
