Mazeppa City Cleanup is Saturday, May 9, 2026, 9AM – 11AM. This is a great opportunity to clean out items that may be around your yard or taking up space in your storage areas. The City uses this event every year to encourage people to use it as a start to clean up their properties in the community. We ask that they use the opportunity to get rid of items stored outside and we offer contact information to places that will come and haul away unlicensed and non-running vehicles. A parking lot in your yard is not fair to neighbors. We respect a person’s property rights, but your property should never be an eyesore that can affect resale of a nearby home. We have ordinances that can give you a guideline top avoid City intervention. A community we can be proud of takes the effort of every property owner to keep their small portion of the town looking tidy.
Did you know, a measure of good citizenship is what you flush. Flushable wipes, Swiffer pads, feminine hygiene products, and are not good for the system. Any product other than toilet paper should not be flushed with the water and waste that enters the sanitary sewer system. The City recently had to get a blocked sewer main cleaned on a Sunday because these wipes created a blockage. If you use these products, it’s only a matter of time until you plug your service line and the cost of removal will be on you. Avoid extra cost for yourself and for the City by not flushing anything but toilet paper.
