Another Mazeppa Daze has passed. The volunteers who make all the events happen do a great job. Members of the Mazeppa Daze Committee, Fire Department, American Legion and Honor Guard, Lion’s Club, and other organizations put in many hours and late nights to pull the celebration together. So, THANK YOU to all of those who put it together for all of us to enjoy. The City had very few complaints about the event, so a thanks to all of those who attended for being respectful of others. Although, to the few that did not act in such a manner, what is the fascination of stealing STOP signs during a big event. Its unsafe and expensive. Ther are plenty of other souvenirs that you can purchase commemorating the celebration.
Last, we see some children that are operating quads, golf carts, and off-road motorcycles on the streets of the community. Children are not allowed to be in operation of a motorized vehicle on City streets. I know that law enforcement has communicated with some of them and with their parents to keep them off the streets and to stay safe.
