Dairy Days Princess Candidates Lining Up

The county Dairy Days celebration looks bigger and better with each passing day. The two-day event to be held in Mazeppa June 23-24 is jam packed with interesting activities.

Following a picnic Saturday when free ice cream and milk will be furnished, the kiddie’s parade will be held. Children up to and including the age of 10 are urge to enter under the supervision of Mrs. G.A. Gahler and Mrs. J.B. Gregoire and prizes will be awarded.

Supt. Fred Eimermann, parade chairman, states there will be at least 75 entries in the giant parade at 1 p.m. Sunday.

A feature event, of course, will be the appearance of the American Dairy princess, Ruth Marie Petereson. There are eight to date from the Mazeppa area. Four who will appear on the Mazeppa Farmers Cooperative Dairy association float include Laurel Wobschall, Bernetta Seipel, Arlene Holtorf and Marcella Krier. The American Legion auxiliary float will be graced by Dolores Sommerfield, Betty Mehrkens, Mary Sommerfield and Phyllis Wobschall.
