Private John W. Kingsley, the last Civil War veteran buried in Wabasha County. John W. Kingsley was born in Chenago County, New York on 24 November 1842 & died Dec. 28, 1936 in Mpls. Kinglsey had a drug store in Mazeppa & his son Floyd took over.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) conducted the ceremony with assistance of the Wabasha County Historical Society, American Legion Post #588 Veterans Honor Guard & the Mazeppa Area Historical Society.
The GAR standard was presented to the Mazeppa Area Historical Society to be on display.
