Zumbro Falls City Council Minutes – April 8, 2026

Zumbro Falls Council met at City Hall. Present at the meeting were all council members and Gilford 4H club members.

The meeting was called to order by the mayor at 6PM.

Clerk read to council the minutes from the March meeting that were accepted as read with a motion from Winters, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.

Treasurer’s report followed with a motion to accept as reported by Anderson, seconded Winters, all in favor carried. The 2025 Audit requirements have been completed and submitted to the state. Lastly, the city’s Certificate of Deposit has been renewed for an additional 6 months at 3.3%.

Members of the Gilford Golden Gophers 4H Club presented the council with details on a proposed Life Jacket Station to be placed at the boat launch. Life jackets (in good condition) are currently being accepted for this effort and can be dropped off in the grey bin by City Hall. The project was accepted with a motion from Winters, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.

Mayor Heitmann is getting bids to repair Water St. and the curbs on Whaleys Ave. Additionally, bids are being considered to replace the city zero-turn lawn mower.

Clerk Hasnon noted that liquor licenses have been distributed to local businesses and council

approval is pending the return of payments and liability forms for submission to the state. Also, portable toilets and garbage bins have been ordered for May 1st at various park locations for the summer.

A motion for the meeting to adjourn and the Clerk to pay bills presented was made by Anderson, seconded Winters, all in favor, carried.
