Zumbro Falls City Council Minutes - May 13, 2026
The Zumbro Falls City Council met on Wednesday, May 13th, at City Hall. Council member Bob Benson was absent. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 6PM.
Clerk read the minutes from the May meeting which were accepted as read with a motion from Anderson, seconded Winters, all in favor, carried. Treasures report followed with acceptance by a motion from Winters, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.
Fire Chief Conrad informed the council that he is working to install new software at the City Hall/ Fire Station to display area mapping and response details which will improve response time and efficiency. Additionally, ZFFD is actively looking to purchase new extraction/vehicle cutting equipment in the near future.
Sam Meyers was present and was granted approval for the Zumbro Valley Snowmobile Association to again host their annual raffle on Feb. 2nd 2027.
The Council passed a motion to move forward with road construction on Water St. which will repave from the post office to the entrance to the ball field. Construction will include cement work to direct water and avoid future potholes due to temperature changes. This project will take place mid to late summer. Motion was made by Winter, second Anderson, all in favor, carried.
The city agrees to the new FEMA floodplain ordinance effective 7/21/2026 and which will be known as Resolution 26-01 with a motion from Winters, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.
August 4th, 2026 will be National Night Out and the Lioness Club will again be hosting a gathering at Cardinal Park with activities, food/drink and prizes.
At 7PM the motion was made to adjourn the meeting and the clerk to pay bills presented from council member Anderson, seconded Winters, all in favor, carried. The next meeting will be held June 10th, 2026.
