The Mazeppa Veteran’s Honor Guard kindly invites the community out to the 17th Annual Field of Flags opening ceremony, which will be held at the ball field at Jaycee’s Walking Bridge Park in Mazeppa on Thursday, July 11th; the opening ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. The Mazeppa Field of Flags ceremony is a touching tribute honoring deceased family members and loved ones, regardless of their military background, in a breathtaking view of red, white, and blue. Mazeppa Veteran’s Honor Guard invites those interested in helping place flags to please come up as names are being called and walk the flag to its appropriate marker. The Mazeppa American Legion Post #588 encourages all who wish to participate in this year’s ceremony by honoring a deceased loved one to please pre-pay for their flag(s), before the Field of Flags opening ceremony. The Mazeppa American Legion is open for business on Monday evenings starting at 5:00 p.m. Flags can be purchased during business hours; the flags are $10.00 each.
